Allen, Texas Board Certified Dentist
FAGD Certification
FAGD is an acronym that stands for Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry. The Academy of General Dentistry is an organization of dentists who are dedicated to professional development and continuing education. All AGD members must remain current with advances in the profession to provide quality patient treatment.
The designation of Fellow is awarded to dentists who earn a minimum of 500 approved continuing education credits and pass a rigorous and comprehensive 400-question examination. A Fellow must also be a member of the Academy of General Dentistry for at least five continuous years. Less than 10% of dentists achieve this award. The minimum requirement in Texas for a dentist to maintain his or her license is 12 hours per year. Therefore, if a dentist does only the minimum requirement it would take them over 41 years to reach the 500-hour minimum requirement.
Dr. Dickey has taken over 600 hours of continuing education, which has helped to keep him highly informed and in tune with the latest techniques and innovations in dentistry.
